The new PCF Logo is designed to visually represent
two key attributes of Peninsula Community Foundations culture: connected-ness
and imagination. The shape, position and color all reflect these themes
in several ways.
The Logo incorporates an abstract representation of the letterforms P
and C to create an open, classic spiral. The spiral shape
of the Logo connotes focus, flexibility and energy, and it implies energy
gathering momentum. The shape is open so the viewer can start from the
inside and move out, or start outside and delve in. This openness also
conveys approachability and friendlinesstwo distinguishing characteristics
of Peninsula Community Foundation. Spiral shapes have been found in many
cultures artistic expressions throughout the centuries; used here,
the spiral lends timelessness and longevity to the PCF Logo. It crosses
over itself at the center, which is a subtle way of illustrating the Foundations
connection with its clients, partners and roots in our community. The
spiral also communicates our role as a community nexusPeninsula
Community Foundation has been a gathering place for people, ideas and
community building since 1964.
For the Peninsula Community Foundation Logo to maintain
its impact, the surrounding area must remain clean and uncluttered. Careful
consideration must be used when placing the Logo close to graphic elements
such as photography, other logos, borders, illustrations or text. Please
refer to the measurements at left for the clear space requirements. Follow
these guidelines in every use of the Logo.
PCF Red is Pantone 1805c. The color appears in the spiral
mark and the word community. The color should always be adjusted
to match 100% Pantone coated when printing on both coated and uncoated
paper.
If Pantone spot color cannot be used, PCF Red may be reproduced using
a 4-color print process (C= 0, M=91, Y=100, K=23). Please work carefully
to match Peninsula Community Foundations color when printing this
way.
When using the Peninsula Community Foundation Logo for digital media,
use #990000 (R=153, G=0, B=0).
Whether reversing the PCF Logo to white on black or
reproducing the Logo in black on a light background, choose the background
color carefully to provide strong contrast and legibility.
The Peninsula Community Foundation Logo may be embossed (we prefer a registered
emboss) but only the spiral mark is embossed. The embossing process should
leave a clean, clear impression of the spiral mark but appear without
a hard, beveled edge.
There are two size restrictions for using the Peninsula Community Foundation
Logo. The preferred logo for all applications is the Large Logo format,
but it is not to be used smaller than 1 3/4. For small use applications
of 1 3/4 to 1, please use the Small Logo format. The Peninsula
Community Foundation Logo may NOT be reproduced smaller than 1.
